Today, I reach my 150-day milestone here on Medium. To celebrate this milestone, I want to honor an icon, a true visionary, a trailblazer, and a role model for every Black Business Owner and Black Entrepreneur.

By owning his own studios, he now has more control over his business and has also added multiple revenue streams to shelter his business from failure. More importantly, his business will have a significant impact on the local economy and on the lives of many people in Atlanta Georgia, particularly, many Black families living in poverty in the area.

Tyler is a role model for Black Businesses. His focus right from the beginning of his career was to economically empower Blacks in America. So he took enormous risk to bet on Black people. He started by writing and producing plays specifically for Black audience, he made movies targeted to Black audience, he created TV series for Black audience, and has now built a Studio with Black audience in mind.

As he rightly says in this video, you have to own your stuff. You have to own your business.

Why?

Because there are people in your community and in the broader community whose lives are tied to your dreams.
